Hello and Welcome to Design Splat Hedonia!

Tell us a bit about what you do and your brand:

Hedonia is a young independent ladieswear  fashion brand. We make clothes for women that love clothes and want something different that is going to flatter them whilst making them stand out in a crowd.

Where did the idea for Hedonia come from?

Hedonia started because we saw there was a gap in the market for feminine styles. So many brands produce the same styles season after season, we want to offer our customers something different every season. We also use limited edition fabrics which reduces the chance of you bumping into someone with the same dress on as you.

Where did the name Hedonia come from?

We love Ibiza, really love Ibiza. Hedonia comes from the word Hedonism, it is for women who seek pleasure from there clothes. Who wouldnt want what they are wearing to make them feel good?! Its all about enjoying yourself and living life to the full.

What type of clothing?

We offer quite a wide selection from floaty floral dresses to body-con jersey pieces, this ensures that we cater for a wide variety of women but all with a Hedonian twist.

Who is your target audience?

Women aged between 18 and 35 who love fashion.

Do you have your clothes in any stores yet?

Yes, we have various stockists around the country and online.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Wearing a Hedonia dress sitting outside Cafe Mambo in Ibiza sipping a cocktail surrounded by lovely ladies all in Hedonia! It would be fantastic to have a Hedonia shop aswell.

Anything big planned for your collection of clothes? Anything else being added?

We plan to expand the brand as much as possible through various avenues. Watch this space for some very cute t-shirts…..

How do you rate yourself as a fashion designer?

We think its hard to rate how good you are at anything, the biggest compliment is when somebody buys something you made and really enjoys wearing it.

In your eyes what makes a good fashion designer?

Somebody that creates clothes that last, a beautifull dress can be like a piece of art. I also think designers really need to be multi-skilled. So many people think its just about the designing but you need to have people skills, time management, self motivation and most importantly be business minded.

Do you think the Fashion industry is difficult to break into?

Very, its extremely hard. Most companies only take on interns which normally means working for free. Unfortunately its about who you know and not what you know.

What do you think it takes to become successful in the design industry?

Alot of determination, good ideas and people skills.

What to you is the most important aspect of creating a garment, the planning, design or implementation and why?

Well the design is always going to be the most important thing, its the main factor in any garment as it will be the thing that sets it apart from other garments.

What drives you/give you the ‘go’ to keep at it and do everything?

We love clothes, from couture to high street! You need alot of passion, its so exciting making new creations every day.

Does fame attract you?

Not really, obviously its great to be recognised as a designer but the fakeness that comes with it is a major downfall.

Where does your inspiration come from for your designs?

Everywhere we look: girls on the street, old films, art and even fabric.

Where can we buy your clothes?

On the website there is a stockist form where you can locate your nearest stockist.

Three words to describe yourself?

Hobbies and other interests?

Shopping, Shopping, Shopping,Partying, Music and Food mainly chocolate.

Favourite Fashion Designer?

Muicca Prada is so influential she just creates the most amazing clothes and really leads the fashion pack. We also love Gucci, Preen, Stella McCartney and Balmain.

Tools of the trade?

Laptop, pencil and a good drawing pad.

Any Tips or advice to share with aspiring designers?

Follow your dream.
